Ours is a people business. The essence of Currey & Company is not only the product for which it is known but also the very important people who help to create the product and carefully deliver it into the hands of those other important people, our customers, in a timely fashion. Our on-going program of process improvement speaks of our faith in the ability of the men and women who work at Currey & Company and their ability to contribute to the betterment of the company and its products. Our faith in them is demonstrated by the fact that we give all of our employees the opportunity to obtain a four-year college degree by paying for their tuition as well as bearing the expense for remedial courses and English programs for our non-English speakers. People are key, but product is also the lifeblood of the company and at Currey & Company we take pride in our original design work , meticulous craftsmanship and careful attention to all details of a product. The effort of our multi-step hand-finishing process manifests itself in the richness and depth of the final finish of many of our products. The appearance of these pieces speaks of the human hands that have touched them as well as of the design skills and craftsmanship that have created them. We have the willingness to do what many other manufacturers regard as too difficult or too time-consuming. We think it shows.
Chandeliers, wall sconces and table lamps form a significant part of the company’s offerings and these goods are characterized by the attention and detailing that goes into their manufacturing and finishing. Where Vintage & Modern Collide – Like many small business success stories, Barn Light Electric is the essence of the American dream. Fueled by a passion for vintage lighting, Bryan and Donna Scott would search through antique stores, attend estate sales, and even poke into abandoned buildings looking for lights to restore in their backyard barn.
The Florida natives enjoyed renewing these American-made barn lights because of the high-quality craftsmanship that had gone into their manufacture. But like so many things, quality barn lighting faded away when less expensive, mass-production techniques came into fashion.
In 2008, after realizing that others shared their passion for vintage lighting, Bryan and Donna left their professional careers to launch Barn Light Electric. Their goal was to make their own line of barn lighting the old-fashioned way – with hand-crafted attention to detail using only the highest quality, commercial-grade materials.
In spite of the dismal economy at the time, the company took off and, in 2012, the Scotts expanded their operations to include a porcelain enamel manufacturing facility – a process that hasn’t been seen in this country for more than 50 years. Today, Barn Light Electric is the only company in America manufacturing porcelain enamel lighting.
Barn Light Electric enjoys working with both residential and commercial customers around the globe and has appeared on multiple television shows including ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, DIY Network’s Garage Mahal and Kitchen Crashers, TLC’s Bakery Boss, and Discovery Channel’s Construction Intervention. They have also been featured on CNN, CNBC, and in dozens of local, regional, and national publications.

Born out of inspiration and driven by creativity, Emporium Home is founded on the premise that we all deserve beauty in our lives, in our spaces and in the things we live with everyday. We love finding that beauty in an unexpected mix of natural stones and metals, or the way a gleaming mirror can change the feel of an entire room. Designing each detail of every Emporium Home product is Ashley Childers’ passion and she delights in those details and believes that they make all the difference. Ashley was fortunate to grow up in a home that taught her to embrace the idea of gracious living and now as a wife and mother of two, she loves sharing that same approach with her family. Ultra Compact Surfaces are a new type of counter top surface manufactured by putting the raw materials found in glass, porcelain, and quartz, under extremely high heat and pressure to create an nearly indestructible material that can be used for counter tops, floors, sinks, and even interior and exterior wall cladding. NeoLith is the next step in the evolution of counter top surfaces, flooring and wall cladding.
What makes NeoLith the best choice for your new counter tops? Its NeoLith’s revolutionary manufacturing process that use 100% natural materials, extreme heat, and intense pressure to produce the most durable surface material available in the market today. We confidently say “extreme” heat and “intense” pressure because NeoLith slabs are cured at about 2200° Fahrenheit (1200+°º Celsius), and compressed to over 5900 pounds per square inch. In comparison quartz counter tops are only cured at about 200° Fahrenheit, and like other counter top surfaces, this results in a surface finish that can be easily damaged by something as simple as a hot pan with out a trivet or hot pad underneath.

We have added technology where it helps to guarantee a higher level of quality, but never as a replacement for the skill and pride of our artisans.
